Moving Mondays: Creating a Conversation Area

"Design is a plan for arranging elements in such a way as best to accomplish a particular purpose." - Charles Eames

When designing your space, don't forgot about its function. Pay particular attention to traffic flow through the home, use of space, and conversation areas. You'd be surprised how so many people get this wrong.

DON'T have your furniture face your TV in your living space. Leave this for your family room, of course, if you have both, Instead, arrange your furniture to face each other creating a wonderful conversation area. If you have  a fireplace, arrange your furniture so that it becomes your focal point in the space. No fireplace? No problem. Create a focal point by adding artwork to the area. Use wingback chairs and a coffee table to finish the look and give the room a touch of elegance.

If you happen to have a larger space, create multiple conversation areas! (see last pic!)
