Easy Ways to Maintain Your Pool

summer's almost here! That means BBQ's and pool parties. What's not so glamourous is if you have your own private pool - keeping it cleaned and well maintained. It is no easy task, I assure you, but it is something that needs to be done. 


Fret no more! You don't have to pay an extreme amount of money for someone to clean it. You can maintain it yourself. 
Here are some easy tips: 





1. Install pool liners. Pool liners are usually inserted when the pool is installed. They help protect the walls and floors of the pool from scratches, scuffs and preventing mold from forming. They are usually made of high resilient vinyl or other synthetic materials and can prolong the life of your pool. 

2. Keep the main pool area covered. Using pool covers, you can stop debris and leaves from falling into your pool - not only in the winter when the pool is not in use - but also during the day when you are out and about. Covering the pool will help keep out bacteria and help keep the water clean from dirt, filth, virus and bacteria. This might take some time setting up but you'll reap the benefits by having a clean pool every time. 


3.  Keep proper water balance. It is very important to check the Ph balance of your pool's chlorine content as well as total alkalinity of the pool water almost every other day. There are certain requirements for pools that must be followed. Too little chlorine can lead to infections and too much chlorine can have the adverse effects on your health. 


4. Sanitize properly.  You should sanitize the pool with the proper chemicals. I would suggest considering trying a chemical free sanitization process. Less chemicals leads to better health. Make sure that you give the pool proper algae treatment control. 


5. Enjoy your clean pool everyday! Skimming the surface of the pool for floating debris and emptying the skimmer basket takes just a minute or two. Follow these quick steps and you'll have a well maintained pool to bask in everyday.
