Privacy In Bed!! Tips for Creating your Own Canopy Bed!

not only are the bed canopies the dream of every little girl, they can also shade you from the natural light. So go ahead and indulge in your favorite canopy! Long fabric panels fall from under a valanced top section, making a sweep of color and style that is totally unforgettable!

This may sound exotic or out of reach but really all you need to create your own private hideaway by investing in a tension rod and a couple of your favorite curtains.

The easiest way to create a simple canopy for your bed is to hang a piece of fabric over the top frame rails of a structured canopy bed. But if your bed doesn't have a canopy frame, there are other ways to get the look of a canopy and to surround your bed in softness and color. You can achieve a very attractive canopy bed look by installing curtain rods to the ceiling, placing one over each end of the bed.

Using either tab-top, tie-top, pinch-pleated or gathered panels, attach the fabric to each curtain rod and let it drape softly to the floor. You can also attach a rod to the ceiling, perpendicular to the head of the bed on each side. Hang the panels to the floor and tie back with a drapery tieback.

Like the feel of the sun on your face as a wake up call then embroidered shams might be more to your liking - Or If you prefer the dark - some beautiful indigo curtains for a sense of richness and romance would be a better fit!

Have no idea how to make your own canopy, then email us today and we'll walk you through the process!

Thanks fro stopping by my place. I LOVE canopy beds. Even though my childhood canopy bed gave me nightmares, I still have been wanting to add a canopy to our current bed. I am a new follower.

Thanks, Holly for following me! I love the name of your site!

Nightmares? Oh no! Now they can bring you dreams...! Go figure. I always wished I had a canopy bed or some sort of curtains hanging from the wall...! But living in a NYC apt in a tiny bedroom and sharing it with an older brother, I knew it wouldn't work.

Hey Evelyn - Love the photos of the canopys - we have a poster bed and have always wanted to do something with sheers....

I love the sheers, but what I think really gives them a rich feel is the border on the bottom. It also provides weight to they drape well. Love the bed.

One of the contestants on the design show on HGTV created an interesting little canopy for the White Box challenge. Sometimes, canopies just add a special something, in the right space!

Hi Wendy- The good thing about the canopy bed is that you can try with different colors and styles of material until you find the right one for you. So go ahead and experiment. Change is good.

Oh wow... that red!
I tried once to create that style and failed miserably. One would think it was easy, but perhaps it takes trial and error... and a LOT of patience? ;0
